Bloating During Pregnancy
Bloating during pregnancy is quite common. It is natural and many women complain of it. This occurs due to some scientific reasons. First let us know what is bloating? Bloating is the accumulation of gas in the intestine which leads to pain in the abdomen and the swelling of the stomach. During pregnancy you may feel that anything you eat causes bloating especially consuming too much of medicines during this period is also taken as a reason for bloating. The scientific reason for its occurrence is that as menstruation is what a women faces every month so due to this the lining of her uterus produces a chemical that is known as Prostaglandins, the expel of this liquid leads to the contraction of the walls of the uterine and therefore a tissue is released along with fluid which is the cause of menstruation. When the chemical called Prostaglandins is produced in huge amount then that leads to excessive contraction of the muscles and therefore causes bloating.
The sensation one has during bloating is irritating like burping, irritating in the stomach, pants getting tight which leads to loosening of the belts, the stinky sensation in your gut that reminds you of the meal you just had is also a terrible sensation. As the stage of pregnancy proceeds the accumulation of cavity in the uterus increases, this further leads to lowering your digestive power, the pressure of the increased cavity creates a tension in your stomach and therefore one feels that she is having gas or bloating sensation occurs. The reason for gas to occur is due to the fact that it enters through the food you eat which further gets broken down and leads to bloating second gateway for gas to get trapped is through the air that we take in. The best way to get the gas out of your system is through burping.
Carbohydrates are the major cause of bloating, vitamins and proteins that form a major part of your diet during pregnancy does not cause burping too much, therefore avoid consuming too much of carbohydrates. Fat it leads to slow digestion and so it is also a major cause of bloating. During pregnancy the digestive system is not as it is normally. The food is very slowly digested; therefore slow digestion results in the higher functioning of bacteria on the food and thus increases the chances of gas to be formed.
The steps that one should take in order to restrict bloating during pregnancy is drink a lot of water, eat right. Do not overeat, take your food little at a time, never mind if you have food six times a day but do not overeat at one go. Eating quickly may be your habit but during pregnancy slow down as your digestive power is not that strong during this period. Do not swallow your food but chew it properly so as to digest it well. Avoid tension and rest a lot. If you follow these you are sure to avoid bloating during pregnancy.
